Helping a giant make a splash in digital media
The client: Verizon Media was a newly-formed company with a day-one audience of over 1 billion active audience members. At launch the brand had high recognition from the strong Verizon DNA, but there wasn’t good awareness of what Verizon Media did or how it was differentiated from the parent brand.
The ask: We were tasked with developing a consistent messaging framework and design system that could be use to help tell the Verizon Media brand story and make the brand as self-service as possible for a large team of people.
The work
Asset Libraries + Templates: Though many aspects of the Verizon Media brand were inherited from the Verizon look and feel, asset libraries and templates were needed for several key areas. We built a full suite of easy-to-use design templates to ensure consistent rollout of the brand.
Guidelines: Once the base brand assets were created we built easy-to-use campaign toolkits that teams throughout the company – from video to events and PR – implemented to ensure consistent messaging and execution.
Web Content Strategy: Alongside the brand’s internal web design team we revised the site’s content and architecture to fit the new messaging guidelines.
Brand Launch + PR: With all the backend assets created, we introduced the Verizon Media brand to the world with a campaign that spanned video, live events, sales tools, and PR.
